Found but Rescued by Cubbies Bone Pet Sitting

This morning, as I was on my way to do a Pet Taxi, I encountered your typical Houston traffic.  When I got to the hold up for the traffic, I was mortified.  There in the fourth lane of 610 Northbound traffic, laid a dog who had been hit by a car.  People never seize to amaze me NO ONE stopped to help this poor creature who was not dead, just hurt, and continued to drive around her.  Myself & another man were able to get her off the freeway and onto the shoulder lane (a big thank you to the nice 18 wheeler truck driver who stopped traffic for us).  My dad & I have transported her to the vet where she is expected to make a full recovery.  She has no broken bones, only severe lacerations on her rear legs which will heal.  She appeared to be a very friendly dog as she licked me repeatedly and let me try and comfort her as we waited to see the vet.  The vet estimates she is a petite, black & tan Rott (currently weighing about 50-60 lbs).  She is grossly underweight and should be 70-80 lbs.  Her age is approximately a little over a year old. Aside doctoring her wounds, she will also have her shots administered today as well as a heartworm test.  She will be boarded at the vet today and possibly tomorrow depending on how the vet feels she is recovering.  I will try to get pictures of her as soon as possible.
I am looking for a foster home or permanent home for this sweet dog.  Her medical bills for today have been paid for, but she will need a follow up visit and spay.  Depending on location, we can transport her to a loving home within a 600 mile radius of Houston.

If you, or anyone you might know, are looking to be a foster parent or a new family member, please let me know.

Thank you!
Alexis Salazar

Once again, I'm reaching out to each of you in hopes that you can help me find Thor a home. Thor is approximately a year and a half old, pit bull mix. I found Thor hanging around my dad's office, digging thru trash, and have been feeding him for the past 2 weeks. Thor does not posses one mean
bone in his big body. He loves to play, lick & sleep at your feet. He is a big ol' baby!!!

On 11/19/10, I took him to the vet to get checked out, bathed & boarded. I learned quickly he does not like getting into cars. Once he's in, he's ok, but it's getting him in that's the fun part.
Here's a summary on Thor:
* Heart worm negative
* Received all shots
* Been given 1 treatment of Capstar (for fleas)
* 24 inches tall
* 65 lbs (vet believes he will fill out, but height wise she believes
he's done growing)
* Intact (which would probably explain why he runs kind of funny :-))
* Currently being treated for double ear infections
* Negative for mange, but does have some kind of skin issue. Skin culture results will be received in a couple of weeks.

If you, or anyone you might know, are interested in meeting Thor, please
contact me.
